Google AdSense is your source to generating revenue from displaying Google Ad's on your site. Google displays ad's relevant to content on the page they are being displayed. By putting Google AdSense on your site or in your forums and blogs, you can generate revenue from those who 'browse' your site and then 'click' on any ad displayed in your site.
Through Google AdSense online reporting you can view the performance of your ad's and see how much money you are generating. Get paid monthy for any balance over US$100. Use the 'Competitive Ad Filter' to block your competitors, or those ad's you don't wish to display.
Why should I get Google AdSense?
We believe on our site, if we can promote something, it should be our clients. And thats what we choose to do. However, we've found the perfect place for a Google AdSense campaign.
Since we've become an Authorise AVG Reseller, we created a page to show the full range of AVG Products we recommend. After looking at our logs, we found a lot of overseas's visitors were coming to the page after searching certain terms in Google (we'll keep secret the best ones working for us). These visitors are very unlikely to become our clients, so we've placed Google Ad's there to hopefully make a small commission if they leave our site through one of the ad's.
When we start a 'links' page in the near future, we may also evealute a Google AdSense campagin, as again, it is at a time when someone is possibly leaving the site.
Contextually Targeted Ad's
Pay-Per-Click: These are the standard ad's that you will see on sites participating in a Google AdSense campaign. They are based on a Google Algorithm that displays relevant ad's to the text on the hosting page. Website owners are paid a commission when someone clicks on a link (Pay-Per-Click).
Site Targeted Ad's
Pay-Per-Impression: A site owner can allow advertisers to choose to advertise on your site. Advertisers are given an option to advertise diretly on your site via a link within the existing AdSense 'contextual' campaign. If an advertiser chooses this method, Google will pay you a commission for each time the Ad is 'displayed' to your visitors (Pay-Per-Impression).
